What’s Worth the Fight: The History of the Slants
November 15, 2024–May 11, 2024 The Portland Chinatown Museum presents its first music history exhibition, What’s Worth the Fight: The History of the Slants. One of the first all-Asian-American dance-rock bands, The Slants are best known for their '80s-driven synth-pop (affectionately dubbed by fans as "Chinatown Dance Rock") and their landmark Supreme Court case over the rights to their name.

What's Worth the Fight explores the band's rich history and musical contributions, their Portland Chinatown roots, and the legacy of their continued activism and creative resilience. What’s Worth the Fight: The History of the Slants will be on view at the Portland Chinatown Museum from November 15, 2024–May 11, 2025.

Please note that PCM will host a community reception for this exhibition in February 2025.
